Comfibook has two kinds of profiles:
a Public
Profile which is created from publicly available
sources like telephone books or other public domain records and
provides the basis for Comfibook's valuable People Search service
a Registered
User Profile which is created during registration and
allows Public Profile modification and access to Comfibook's
address book, 411 and other services.
Claiming your profile allows you to control the information displayed . Your profile is also a useful tool for reconnecting with people you may have lost touch with, so the more profile info you include, the easier it will be for old friends to find you. Finally, all messages, comments, and interactions with your profile become visible to you once you've successfully claimed it.
Once you have claimed your Public Profile, you can (1) use Comfibook's People Search to find people; (2) use Comfibook's address book to more easily update and contact your business colleagues, friends and family; and (3) present a different face to your business colleagues, friends or family by customizing settings either individually or between communities.
Comfibook is committed to helping people reconnect with others from their past using our People Search service. Comfibook's Public Profiles provide publicly available contact information compiled from public sources like telephone books or other directories. That means that everyone has free access to this information about you already.
Residential and business listings in the US and Canada come from publicly available sources like printed phonebook directories and/or data feeds directly from Telephone Companies and/or Local Exchange Carriers.
Non-sensitive information provided by individuals to state and federal agencies, post offices, courthouses, telephone companies and other such entities are recorded and maintained in a variety of public-records databases across the U.S. Everyone has free access to this information. Certain companies compile and resell this data to marketing organizations, directory information sources, and many others.
Since Comfibook updates its publicly available data regularly from variety of sources, we cannot guarantee deleted information unless that change has been made at the initial public source. To change information we recommend contacting the source of information and deleting it at the source.
To edit/delete data on Comfibook.com we recommend the following:
Comfibook will provide the specific source for the data the requester would like changed or deleted. Validation that requester is the person represented in the Public Profile will be necessary and we ask that requester fax or email:
1 - a written request;
2 - a screen shot of a web page, with highlighted information that you want to edit/delete or to find out its source;
3 - proof of identification in the form of State or Federal ID that shows your full name, address (you can cross out your photo, BOD and ID#);
Please fax this info to 800 861 9713 (please include an email address so that we may contact you with any questions) or email to Profile-Remove /at/ Comfibook.com. Without such a correction, Comfibook cannot guarantee that a deletion or correction is permanent.
To quickly limit public access to data: Comfibook recommends registering on the site and altering privacy settings to reflect the desired level of disclosure.
User profile settings allow customization of contact information at the discrete level (e.g. cell, office or home numbers) or at a community level. At the discrete level you can customize what each individual person in your Comfibook address book can see. At the community level you can set broad settings that allow you to quickly and easily set (e.g. personal contact information shared with classmates and business information with former colleagues).

Comfibook provides People Search
capabilities with publicly available data to Registered Users. If
your telephone is publicly listed, we will provide it in a Public
Profile. If you do not wish for that information to be disclosed, we
encourage you to change these listings at their source (you local
phone company). You can also register on our site and set limited
privacy settings. With strict privacy settings, we will ask your
permission to connect with another individual or share your contact
information.

Comfibook cannot alter public domain records or change information on other people-search services, public-records databases, or online search engines. To delete online information we recommend:
Delete data at the source: Upon request (and validation that requestor is the Profile person) Comfibook will provide the specific source for Public Profile data. Deleting information at the original source is critical to permanently changing the internet and other online directories.
Set limited privacy settings on your Registered Profile: Claim your Comfibook profile by registering and altering your Public Profile privacy settings to limit disclosure.
Comfibook does not control information that appears about you on web search services such as Yahoo! or Google. These companies have their own systems for obtaining and storing public-records data. If your information appears on other websites or search engines, you need to contact those companies directly. In limiting your privacy settings on Comfibook, we assure that that data does not get shared with other Comfibook registered users.

shared with or sold to other businesses or marketers. However,
Comfibook reserves the right to disclose Public Profile information
obtained from public domain records in response to our People Search
service. The information provided in our Public Search comes from
Public Profiles on our site. Wish to alter that information?

Comfibook does not tolerate abusive behavior. If you are being contacted inappropriately through our contact process, please report all abusive messages using our contact form.
There is no charge for setting up and using Comfibook's addressbook. If you request more than 3 contacts, you will be charged $0.15 for each additional requests. The results from these inquiries will be automatically updated to your Comfibook addressbook where you can access them either via browser of by calling 1 800 341 7650
